To Begin With
The following article took me almost half day to write. ...why? First of all, I spent more than two hours writing, but something hellish happened to me!! As I had almost finished the writing and attempted to post what I had just written, everything vanished.... So I wrote it all a second time, but the same thing happened to me again!! My assistant's toe touched the power switch, then the computer shut down.... I almost went crazy! Finally (now), all I can do is write what I remember as best as I possibly can....
Who's Lauren?
The Canadian gorgeous girl Lauren, who also shoots people and what she sees in her life. But something changed, she was the subject of my shooting this time. It all started because one of her friends came to my website, and introduced me to her, so we got in touch for the photoshoot.
The Waiting
I went where we agreed to meet, and waited for Lauren to show up. Just as I was wondering when I would eventually die (because I forgot to put on my stupid jacket on such a freezing day), she showed up with her bicycle...
The Pre-production Meeting At Starbucks
We just had one pre-production meeting at Starbucks to discuss which outfits and accessories she had. We didn't decide which shooting and appearance style to do during the meeting. However, a few days later, I decided on "The Pastoral Lauren" as the subject for the shooting. Although I didn't figure out what she had said completely because she spoke a little bit too quickly (actually, I am poor at English listening), but I understood a bit from her body language and I showed her some of my ideas on my iPad (I like Steven Jobs).
By the way, I was wondering if my ear had frozen when she told me she would like to order the iced vanilla cream on such a cold day. It was then that I realized she is really Canadian.
The Day of Shooting And A Big Foolish Mistake With Small Gear
I arrived where we decided to meet one hour early on the shooting day. I'm used to being early when I do bussiness. I thought it might be too early to arrive, and I even put myself at a high risk! Why? I parked my car on the red line of the street for one hour. Luckily, the police hadn't woken up early that day, so no ticket for me... haha!
When we got our shooting location, I have to confess such a big foolish mistake... I didn't realize the tripod irony adapter had been dropped in the trunk of my car, so my assistant had to hold the head light all the afternoon. I guess she was thinking where the hell is it! I eventually came to a conclusion; check anything again and again in places you would never imagine things to be, even in your pocket.....
Lauren's performance
To be frank, Lauren is really talented at natural poses. Most of what you saw in the album were all done by her. There is no such thing gorgeous. I left some of my ideas in my iPad and didn't touch them. I just set up the flash gear, a bunch of the balloons and some accessories on the day. Thank God for the great weather and my assistant's strong arms... we did it! But no thanks to the damn tripod irony adapter; it didn't want to be with us during the shooting, it just wanted to lie down in my trunk and sleep.......
